PLAY TOGETHER, STAY TOGETHER
Whether it’s been a few months, or a few years, we understand that it can be difficult to get back into playing rugby. With new routines, commitments and everything else life throws at you, it can be hard to find the time or energy to get your boots back on
That’s why we’ve launched our Play Together, Stay Together campaign, aimed at reminding you of all the benefits that come with playing rugby. Whether it’s the physical benefits of regaining your fitness and getting back to prime you, or the mental benefits of being surrounded by a like-minded group of people, there’s always a reason to head back to your local club.
There’s a range of resources we’ve created for you to assist you in every facet of your return to rugby:
Activate: The RFU’s Injury Prevention scheme which will provide you with exercises to help strengthen key muscles to assist with the game’s physical demands
Strength & Conditioning: Access a series of exercise videos curated by England Rugby’s Strength & Conditioning coach, Robin Eager, for workouts you can do at home.
Food For Rugby: Providing nutrition advice and recipes to improve performance on the pitch, with recommendations for all ages and requirements
FOR CLUBS
If you’re a club looking for new members at any point of the season or looking to help your junior players make the jump from age-grade to adult rugby, we have a range of resources to help you out. From collateral for social media, to email templates, press releases and guides, there’s bound to be something to assist you in your search.
Visit the England Rugby Resources page to get access to all of this and more.
We also regularly provide support for clubs to either build, maintain or improve their social media pages and content. As well giving tips and tricks across all platforms, we also provide a forum to clubs to highlight their own success, allowing everyone to learn from each other.
This is all run through our ‘Pitch Up Social Media Club’, and you can request to join with your Facebook account.

Game On
Player availability can be difficult, but just because you don’t have 15 players doesn’t mean you have to cancel or postpone games.
The newly formatted Game On means you only need ten players to get the game played.
Scrums now have more options from fully contested, allowing only a 1.5 m push or even uncontested if needed.
Lineouts have similar options, from contested to uncontested and allowing lifting or no lifting.
With flexibility in the rules allowing for you to choose the duration and pitch size, you can build a game that suits everyone.
There are plenty of ways you can get the Game On. So please don’t cancel the game, play, and let players do what they enjoy the most, because every game matters.
